Aerial photograph with existing hovel locations

Aerial Photograph. January 1945. Image notes the locations of the seven hovels referred to within this website and are highlighted as red circles and numbered. Hovel (Probable) number 4 is demolished and the footings were unearthed during excavation works for the redirection of Lenchwick Lane. Also seen are the overlaid routes of the modern A44 link Road in blue and the re routed adjoining Lenchwick Lane in yellow. The area found within Chadbury Road, Lenchwick Lane and The Squires is thought to be the location boundary of the six acre smallholdings with their hovels. Other likely hovels given their size and location to an approximate six acre smallholding, one may estimate there being 22 hovels at the time of this photograph.
